Golden

Friday, April 19, 1974.
A skinny 14-year-old farm girl
met a handsome 16-year-old preacher’s son.
Fifty years ago.
Fifty golden years.

Five years, 4 months, and 6 days after that first meeting, the two stood before a church full of friends and family and sang to each other.

“Love’s grown deep inside of us
And time has made us sure
That the reason we stand here
Is because You’ve touched Your hand here.
The love we feel today is meant to be shared by two,
So we commit our love to You.”

Still do.

  1. AWWW! how sweet, Blake & Dinah! We were at your wedding too. I remember when Blake brought out the cigar wrap ring for you. Still LOL. We were down at the UW indoor track last week to say farewell, b/c they’re taking it down to build an indoor full size football practice field, w/perhaps a track around it. We met at the start/finish line 46 yrs ago, as we were timing events. So, we posed for a few pics pictures. They’re kinda fuzzy, but I can send you one or 2.

    From 1 Lovebird to another.

  2. Happy anniversary! You two, or rather your cord of three strands, changed me and our whole family. I’m so thankful that you choose each other and how you’ve lived your years together. Our lives were forever changed for the better because of you. ❤️
